Making New Friends

August 14th 2014

Have you heard? I am designing fun and easy quilt patterns, perfect for beginners. Yep, I want everyone to try quilting and see what a great addiction fun it is! I tell you it’s like a mini-vacation; reduce stress and make something pretty all at the same time. (See my quilted vacation bag?)

Yep, and this year I get to go to the International Quilt Market in Houston during the fall. I am SO excited!

I’ll get to schmooze, mingle and network with quilters and designers that I have admired and learned from over the last few years and hopefully make some business contacts and “quilty” friends of course, because quilters are the kindest, generous people.

I am currently working with Morna McEver Golletz  who is coaching me through the quilt pattern business and it’s been so beneficial. She first asked me how I found her and I said “I looked up ‘quilting coach’ and there you were!” Thanks Morna!

“Morna McEver, CEO and founder of the International Association of Professional Quilters and International Association of Creative Arts Professionals, has been where you are. She turned her passion for sewing and quilting into a business.”

And speaking of generous people….one of the new friends I have made, who has also worked with Morna, is Jo, The Fat Quarter Gypsy. She’s already been to market and is kinda showing me the ropes, electronically that is.  She’s sharing all kinds of pertinent info with me as she goes through her process. I think that’s so kind and generous of her, I am so appreciative of that. Like she says, “We help each other, it’s the name of the game.”

So I want to help her by sharing her designs with you. She’s been real busy creating these great modern patterns that you gotta see for yourself, they even have size options so you don’t have to think! Click here to take a look.  A couple of my favorites are Zignosis

and the Granny Dot. I just love this one!

So it’s back to quilting and designing for me, hope to show you more of my patterns very soon.

By the way, have you signed up for my newsletter? Upper right hand corner, go on sign up, You’ll be the first to hear about my patterns and I promise not to drown your inbox. ; )

This is excellent news. I have already seen your High Seas pattern and love it. I am still planning on making the anchor as a mini quilt to remind me to be still – even when the seas are choppy. I look forward to all your patterns. You have a talent for patchwork so I look forward to many more inspiring designs.
As for Quilt Market – that is SOOOOO exciting.
